Director, Tri-County

Brief info

I graduated from Central State University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science in Education with a concentration in Special Education.  During my time at CSU, I found a true passion for education and helping create opportunities for students.  I am a mother of two beautiful adults, Nigel and Nya.  My family and my desire for positive change helps keep motivated.

Thankfully, I have been in the education world for over 25 years.  I started off at the African American Academy, teaching 4th and 6th graders.  Then, I began working at Childtime Learning Center, which was located in the Federal Building.  I started off as a preschool teacher and was promoted to Center Director, which I served in that position for 18 years.  After my time at Childtime Learning Center, I served as the Home School Coordinator for Head Start at Hamilton County Community Action Agency.

My philosophy of education is that all children are unique and able to learn, but as educators we must provide a stimulating educational environment where they can grow physically, mentally, emotionally and socially.  All children should be given the opportunity to learn and be creative.  I truly believe parents are the first teacher.  With that being said, I hope that we can work together to ensure that our scholars grow into their full potential.
