We offer programs for children ranging from 6 weeks to 5 years old.
With cuddles and conversation, your child's assigned caregiver will form a genuine and natural bond through activities that promote social skills, independence and language development. Every one of your child's daily needs is attended to in order to ensure he or she feels special and loved. Each child has his or her own crib stocked with clean sheets, blankets, bibs and burpies; plus nutritional meals, snacks and Enfamil with iron formula, all to instill a healthy development as early as possible. Your child will truly be in the safest and best environment to promote their physical and emotional growth.
During this point in a child's life, toilet training becomes an integral milestone for development and is of the utmost importance for every parent. At Sharon Hill, we consult with each family to ensure that caregivers adhere to the methods already in place at home. This approach enables us to maintain consistency and patience throughout the day and allows for an easier transition into the evening.
Our primary goal for your child at the pre-school stage is to develop his or her independence and a healthy self esteem. Our pre-school classrooms provide children opportunities to enhance their critical thinking, problem solving and social skills. This comprehensive approach encompasses a kindergarten preparatory track to enhance your child's skills in reading, math, science and writing. We strive to have each child far ahead of the learning curve as they enter kindergarten.
Ohio CACFP (Child and Adult Care Food Program) & Healthy Programs
Sharon Hill locations participate in the Ohio Child and Adult Care Food Program which requires fully balanced meals that incorporate ingredients from each food group and within the recommended serving size for appropriate ages. We provide breakfast and lunch with nutritionally balanced foods from dairy, protein, fruit, vegetable and grain categories. An afternoon snack and a second one for children in our programs past 5:00 p.m. is offered daily with foods from at least two of the required groups.
Sharon Hill also participates in the Ohio Healthy Programs. In doing so, we have made the commitment to serve healthier options from food groups including lean proteins, whole grains, non-fried foods, fresh fruits and vegetables of varying texture and type as well as less artificial sugars. All juice served is 100% natural and milk is whole for ages 1-2 ½ with 1% for older ages. Our children are provided and encouraged to have at least one hour of physical activity each day. Nutritional recommendations regarding healthy and active lifestyles are distributed to families regularly.
Organic Garden Project
Both locations maintain fully organic gardens which are part of the children's natural science curriculum late Spring through early Fall. With assistance from their educators, they tend to and harvest fresh fruits, vegetables and flowers. Some items are incorporated into seasonal cooking activities in classrooms while others are offered for families to take home.
